Check In/Check Out

Check in will start at 3pm every day of the week and check out must be promptly at 11am. Late check out and/or early check in will result in an additional $50 fee. You will receive a message with the entry code at check-in time when your reservation begins. Enter the four digit code, wait for the long Schlage button at the top of the keypad to turn green, then rotate the thumb turn to the right to release the deadbolt. Please lock all doors at the end of your stay. Start by pressing the long Schlage button, wait for it to turn green, then rotate the thumb turn to the left to lock the deadbolt. Please send a message when you check out to confirm the property is secure.

House Rules
1. You must be 21 years of age or older to book Bavon Cottage and highly rated by other Air BnB hosts.
2. No food or drinks except water are allowed in the bedrooms or upstairs.
3. Do not climb the rocks or dunes and follow all designated signs on Bavon Beach.
4. Do not enter the house before rinsing sand from feet and body using the outdoor shower.
5. Please respect the space, and report anything that is damaged or broken upon arrival or departure.
6. At Check-out, please wash dishes, take out trash, reset thermostat, turn off lights, secure all windows and doors, and confirm departure.
7. An early or late fee of $50 will be charged for guests arriving before check-in time at 3:00pm or departing after check-out time at 11:00am.

Parking
Parking is available on the gravel driveway for up to 4 vehicles. Please do not park on the grass or road.
Thermostat
The thermostat is located in the downstairs hallway just past the half bath. Upon arrival, you can turn the thermostat up or down. Please do not set AC below 70 in warmer months and return to 78 before leaving. In cooler months, do not set heat above 70 and return to 58 before leaving. Thank you honoring these requests and sharing our commitment to reducing energy consumption.
Wifi
The Wifi Network is Fisher 63 and the password is Bavon63-1.
Television
The tv downstairs is a Smart TV, which you can use to login to your subscribed apps. Please be sure to log out of all personal accounts at the beginning and end of each stay. There is also a large collection of DVD’s available for the player downstairs, and the loft bedroom is equipped with an XBOX and games. The upstairs tv is connected to an Amazon fire stick, which can also be used to enjoy other apps if you login with an Amazon account.
Appliances
The toaster is stored in the lower cabinet to the right of the stove. The blender is under the wet bar by the sliding doors. There is a crock pot in the pantry. The tea pot is on the stove. The coffee pot is on the kitchen counter and the coffee is stored in the bottom drawer of the freezer. There are a number of spices and other cooking ingredients above the kitchen sink. A hair dryer is located in the half bath downstairs and in the loft bathroom. Please empty the fridge before departure, leaving all condiments. Be sure to clean out the coffee pot.
Dishes
Please wash all dishes and return to their approximate location. Feel free to use the dishwasher, but be sure it is emptied before leaving.
Linens
There are four sets of queen sheets and two sets of twin sheets that are available in the laundry room if you prefer not to bring your own . All beach towels and bath towels can also be found in this space . Please place all dirty towels and sheets in the hampers in the bedrooms before your departure. Laundering is included in the cleaning fee.
Outdoor Shower
Please do not enter the house before rinsing sand from feet and body in the outdoor shower.
Shed Access & Beach Equipment
All beach equipment is stored in the shed beneath the house, except for the two adult kayaks sitting on the cross beams beneath the screened porch. When you walk in through the front door, you will see a flip flop key chain just to your left with the key to unlock the shed. This can be used to access the shed and retrieve any desired beach equipment including umbrellas, chairs, kids kayaks, and life jackets. Please rinse all items to remove any sand and lock the shed before the end of your stay.
Outdoor Grill
Feel free to use the grill and notify us if the gas is low. There is an additional tank in the shed. The grill tools are stored on top of the fridge. Please clean and cover once it is cooled and use the bungee chords to secure.
Groceries
For more extensive grocery shopping, there is a Food Lion in downtown Mathews that is open from 7am-10pm. It is 10 miles away from the home. Since you have to drive through town to get to Bavon, you may want to plan to stop before you check in. The Island Stop Market is the closest convenience store that has fresh food and other essentials such as snacks, drinks, and ice. They are a short 6 mile drive from the cottage. Please visit the local Attractions page to see other opportunities to shop and explore all that Mathews County has to offer.
Trash
Trash bags are located beneath the kitchen sink. Please be sure that all bags are placed in the closed bin at the end of the driveway on Sunday evening or before 6am on Monday for pick up.
Safety
The fire extinguisher and first aid kit is in the pantry. Additional first aid supplies in each bathroom. A fire blanket is on top of the kids cabinet downstairs and on top of the fridge. There is an AED at the entrance of the beach as well as a life ring and spinal board. Please use the life preservers provided for young swimmers and anyone riding the kayaks. There are two ring cameras on the exterior of the home and one inside the shed for security.
